The Upanishads are late Vedic Sanskrit texts of Hindu philosophy which supplied the basis for the later schools of Vedanta. They are the most recent part of the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, and deal with meditation, philosophy, and ontological knowledge.
